Welcome to the Hutterite Farm Exchange! We’re a community built on trust, quality, and a direct connection to the farm. These Terms of Use are our community guidelines, designed to ensure a safe, fair, and transparent experience for everyone. By using our platform and services, you’re agreeing to these guidelines. Please read them carefully.

1. Our Purpose & Your Connection

The Hutterite Farm Exchange is a digital marketplace designed to create a direct bridge between Hutterite communities (“Producers”) and customers like you (“Buyers”). Our main role is to provide the technology and support that makes these direct connections possible. While we facilitate this connection, the actual transaction for a product is a direct relationship between you and the Producer.

2. Your Account

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account with us.

• Your Commitment: We ask that you provide accurate and current information when you register and keep your profile updated.

• Keeping Your Account Secure: You are responsible for your account and password. Please let us know immediately if you ever suspect any unauthorized use.

3. Our Community Guidelines

To keep our community safe and trustworthy, we ask that all users interact in a respectful and honest way. As a member of our community, you agree to:

• Be Honest: Provide accurate and truthful information in your listings and communications.

• Be Respectful: Do not post content that is defamatory or harmful to others.

• Be Lawful: Do not engage in fraudulent activities or sell illegal items.

• Respect the Platform: Do not send spam or do anything that could interfere with the smooth operation of our services.

We reserve the right to suspend or close any account that does not follow these essential community guidelines.

4. How Transactions Work

• For Producers: You are responsible for accurately describing your products, including all relevant details like ingredients or farming practices.

• For Buyers: You are responsible for reading the product description before making a purchase.

• Resolving Issues: Because this is a direct relationship, any questions or issues with a product should be directed to the Producer first. They take great pride in their work and are in the best position to help you. While we may provide tools to help you communicate, the final resolution is between you and the Producer.

5. Our Role as Your Connection to the Farm

Think of the Hutterite Farm Exchange as the digital town square—a place where dedicated producers and passionate customers can connect directly. Our primary role is to provide the platform and the service that makes these connections possible.

• Direct from the Producer: All products you see are listed, described, and sold directly by our independent Hutterite partners.

• A Community Built on Trust: We do not guarantee transactions, as the final agreement is between the Buyer and Producer.

• Your Direct Relationship: This direct link is what creates the transparent and trustworthy farm-to-table experience that HFE is all about. We encourage you to read producer profiles and ask questions to ensure a great experience.

6. Our Service Commitment & Its Limits

We promise to provide our platform and services with care and professionalism. However, like any online service, we can’t guarantee it will be perfect all the time. Our platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. This means we are not liable for damages or losses that may result from your use of the platform or from any transaction you enter into with another user.

7. Your Responsibility to Us

If your actions on our platform lead to a legal claim or issue against Hutterite Farm Exchange, you agree to be responsible for the costs and damages associated with that claim.

8. Governing Law

We are a proud Alberta-based company. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

9. Evolving with Our Community

As our community grows, we may need to update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will always provide you with at least 30 days’ notice. By continuing to use our platform after the changes take effect, you agree to the new terms.
